Feline & Canine Kidney Support Diet
Commercial Kidney Diet Verses Raw Kidney Diet.
We are often asked how our kidney diet compares with other commercially cooked diets for kidneys
You cannot compare any commercial kidney diet to a raw kidney diet.
Question:
I have been feeding my cat N/F and I was wondering how your recipe breaks down nutritionally as compared to N/F or k/d. Specifically, I want to know the protein levels, phosphorous levels and sodium amount.
Answer:
Our Renal Diet cannot be compared to any kind of commercially cooked products because it is a balanced raw diet. Phosphorous levels are not of any concern when feeding raw because those levels are balanced out to a normal range naturally when the cat eats the diet they are supposed to be eating….raw.
High Phosphorous levels come from processed foods and damaged and pre aged kidneys are caused by vaccines, flea control medications, drugs and processed foods…mainly dry foods. Once the kidneys gain strength and support with proper supplementation and raw kidney diet the high Phosphorous levels settle down also.
As for the protein...again, when fed a raw diet the quality of protein makes all the difference in the world. You cannot compare "cooked" protein and artificial proteins to a raw diet. Anything cooked is not natural to the naturally acidic short digestive system of a cat. Please read some of the very good articles on "Why Raw" on my home page for starters. Why Raw Diet For Cats and Dogs
In conclusion, our Renal Diet is sold by many homeopathic Veterinarians all over the United States. Those vets that don't stock our products do send customers to us to purchase it. We have had 12 years of excellent success in this diet for cats in renal failure or slight renal issues. Along with our Renal Diet, vets are adding a daily tablet supplement Feline Renal Support by Standard Process mentioned in our Renal Diet brochure and/or their own classic homeopathy for the kidneys.
Feline Instincts comments are based solely on what they have
experienced through their own cats and hundreds of customers who have fed our kidney diet with extra supplementation prescribed by their homeopathic vets.
If the cat eats a balanced raw diet from age of 4-6 weeks they wouldn’t have kidney issues until the natural aging process starts at around age 16-25.
Our experienced with cats and diets has been documented in a controlled environment.
