Shake supplement well. One homemade raw meat dog food recipe makes 3 pounds of food.

Add small chunks of meat or the meat you have chopped in the food processor and stir again.Use 50% skinless boneless chicken breasts and 50% skinless boneless chicken thighs or all thighs. Also dark ground turkey or stew meats. One bag of K9 makes about 30 pounds of food.
Weigh daily meals in freezer baggies and freeze. To store prepared meal portions I use pint size Zip Lock freezer bags and freeze then in large flat Tupperware boxes, separating each layer with paper towels so they will not freeze together. Or, freeze portions in ice cube trays then pop them in freezer bags when frozen.
Keep meals frozen for up to 6 months and keep thawed only 24 hours. Don’t leave food out for feeding more then 1/2 hour, then put back in fridge. My way of doing this recipe is not the only way. Some of our customers freeze the finished recipe in ice cube trays, others use small plastic containers. Do what is comfortable for you.
Dogs should typically have two small meals a day and puppies three times a day until 8 weeks old. You will need to consider what the activity levels your dog has; older dogs are less active whereas puppies and younger dogs are more active. Not all dogs have the same need for calories from food as others.
Here is the guideline that most pet products follow:
- Toy dogs 3-12 lbs: 1/2 – 1 1/4 cups
- Small dogs 13-25 lbs: 1 1/4 – 2 cups
- Medium dogs 26-50 lbs: 2 – 3 3/4 cups
- Large dogs 51-100 lbs: 3 3/4 – 6 3/4 cups
- Extra Large dogs over 100 lbs: 6 3/4 plus 1/2 cup for each 10 lbs of body weight over 100 lbs
Multiply your dog’s weight in pounds by a factor of 0.4. This provides the daily food in ounces. For instance, if a dog weighs 50 pounds: 50 x 0.4 = 20 oz = 1 LB 4oz a day.
