I still get many emails and calls from uneducated feline caregivers about their cats suffering from stones and blockages. It breaks my heart that the majority of cat caregivers still don’t get it in regards to a cats true species appropriate diet.

I know it’s so much easier to open a bag of dry food or canned but that’s not in anyway at all healthy for your cat or dog! It’s very much like opening a bag of chips for your child and giving them a vitamin pills to take with it for all their life!

The cat suffers from this ill informed diet need because of commercials and allopathic vets that are not educated themselves on proper nutrition for a cat.

After seeing a allopathic vet, the cat suffers from drugs and often unnecessary surgery to “cure” their urinary issues and then sent home to eat a prescription food that is in full part the fault of the vets education in school.

Allopathic vets get about 10 hours of education on diet for all animals. The vet is told to listen to Hills and other prescription diet companies about proper diet, that is why you see in ALL vet clinics a host of prescription foods in the waiting rooms.

I say listen to nature for the diet needs of an animal and you can’t go wrong!

I bet many of you never knew that when a cat eats their appropriate raw diet it maintains not only their urinary functions but much more? Here, this is from our website…

“Felines literally thrive on the raw enzymes provided only when the meat is raw.

A homemade raw meat cat food diet will help to maintain the pH acidic environment necessary for their digestion and absorption of calcium. The acidic environment stimulates the pancreas to reduce digestive enzymes; this maintains pancreatic health and prevents atrophy of this important organ. The strong digestive secretions allow very few parasites to get past the stomach. It is important to note that commercial pet foods, which are cereal-based or not, do not nurture a naturally pH acidic stomach environment like a raw meat diet for cats; because of this, Feline Diabetes, Feline Urinary problems (FUS) and Feline Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD) normally disappear when fed a raw meat diet. Alkaline diets disturb a felines digestive and urinary balance.”

So if you think feeding raw is too expensive or time consuming, think about the vet bills and the suffering of your feline when you have to take her to the vets one day because of the commercially cooked foods you are feeding to her now.

As for time consuming to make a raw food for your cat; I would never feel this way because I love my cats and want the best for them. By freezing a good supply you only have to make it once every few months. What’s so hard about that when you will have a healthier feline because of it ?

With Kindest Regards,
Felice, Caesar and Alex
