Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10 )

I give Caesar and Alex one CQ 10 by VetriScience a day. Why?

For their heart and gums but, CoQ10 also replenishes the cellular energy that makes energy for just about every cell in my cats’ body. Nearly every single body functions depends on it; every cell, organ and every tissue in the body. Deep in the cells is where you’ll find CoQ10 at work.

CoQ10 is a compound produced naturally in the liver. As our pet’s age and especially a cat’s liver, they become over toxic more easily. A cat’s liver cannot tolerate toxins as well as a human and a dog; give a cat an aspirin and in 20 minutes it is dead. Not so for a dog.

Cells use CoQ10 to support energy and growth. Cells with the fastest turn over like heart cells, mouth tissue cells, intestinal mucosal cells and immune system cells, demand high levels of CoQ10.

Coenzyme Q10 also does other things in your pet’s body. It:

  • Contributes to healthy normal circulation
  • Promotes optimal immune function
  • Supports the healthy presence of oxygen in tissues
  • Supports cardiovascular health
  • May help promote optimal gastrointestinal health
  • Supports healthy gums

Did you know that those statin drugs that lower cholesterol eat up the Coenzyme in our bodies? This is why many people become weak in the leg and arms muscles. Imagine what it does to the heart muscle too! Um, I missed placed my soap box…oh well, I didn’t need to get into the drug companies now anyway I’m feeling too good.
