All Good Things Must Come to an End
Hello Loyal Supporters of Feline Instincts,
It has been thirty years since I opened Feline Instincts with the help of my veteran husband and one young man working on weekends to support his way through college. I remember the days when I hand mixed and filled My Natural Cat premixes by hand. We grew fast to a modern food grade machinery system.
As much as I have loved every step of this journey, all good things must come to an end. It’s time for me to start winding things down so I can retire and spend as much of my golden years as possible with hobbies I love to do and have many precious times with Finn.
Date of closing:
The retiring date for Feline Instincts can take us into the early part of 2027 or later.
We will continue to sell our products until they have run out. When a product becomes low in stock you will see that on the ordering pages.
For those of you who would like to stock up before we close, our premixes have the following shelf life:
- Premixes with egg and/or liver have a shelf life of 1.5 years.
- Premixes without egg and/or liver have a shelf life of 5 years. Get on the list of orders before the end of Oct 10, 2026. This premix is a simple recipe you add in raw egg and liver or in powder form.
- Shelf life can be extended with proper storage. Click here to learn more.

I truly want to give all of you, my loyal customers, a great big THANK YOU and to let you all know how much I have enjoyed and treasured every part of the work I did the last thirty years building Feline Instincts. It is with a very heavy heart I leave the world wide feline family I have cared for for thirty years.
But more importantly, I am enormously proud to have EARNED the TRUST and friendship of millions of feline and caniine owners all over the United States and throughout Asia!

Frequently Asked Questions About the Future
Since I posting my retirement notice I’ve gotten a lot of questions. I’m posting the answers to the most frequently asked ones below.
What should I look for in similar products?
If you do try another product, always check the ingredients and ask why they use them. Specifically, find out if any of the ingredients could cause an allergic reaction in either humans or cats. Many things that are allergens to humans can also be allergens to cats.
Will someone else be taking over Feline Instincts or will you pass along your recipes?
I have not come across anyone so far that could stand up to the reputation of my recipes. I have built a good reputation for my premixes and the name Feline Instincts for 30 years and could not accept someone who may destroy all I have built.
When will you decide about selling the company or passing on the recipes?
I will decide what to do about my recipes when I close. I want to give anyone a chance to purchase them and start their own business first.
Can I extend the shelf life of premixes by freezing them?
Freezing Egg and Liver free is not reccomended. Click here for our guide on extended storage.
Will you offer more of the mixes without egg/liver so I can stock up on more?
I used to make the Egg and liver free but it never sold well. It should now be a good seller now because of the longer shelf life. I offer this premix as a special order of 50-200 bags because my mixer has to make a minimum of 200 bags – it can’t do less.
